High in my ivory tower,
I stand and gaze out across the battlements,
Looking out at the clouds around us.
As I help to build upon the walls of reason,
I cannot help but wonder
What it would be like
To play amongst the clouds.
Thinking without my mind
Seeing what it's like
Floating free

I'm fascinated by those clouds.
They defy reason
Defy logic
Defy my every instinct
And yet I wish to understand them.
How they came to be
Why they still exist
What purpose they serve

What if I could catch the clouds?

Learn about them
Talk to them
Share with them.

Shouldn't a tower of ivory and clouds be beautiful?
Wouldn't a tower of thoughts and dreams be inspiring?
Couldn't a tower of such a union reach to the stars themselves?

Wouldn't our tower shine?
Yeah, I went and wrote something again.

But does it? Does our tower shine? Or is it broken down, a mere imitation o fbeauty, of what it could, and should, be?

I bet our tower would shine if we built it all together.
This poem made me think a lot and that usually means that I like it. The tower image is an image I use very often for expressing certain things, so it was just nice to see it here, too!
THe question is, whether we can allow us to be clouds and escape into our ivory tower or if we need to tear down the battlements and make space for ladders and stairs so that we can be on the tower together, and use the stones of the battlements for new towers.
- Sorry, I am just interpreting and thinking about how I understand this poem!
Very nice one.

Oh, don't apologise, it's really interesting to see other people reading the poem differently from the way I wrote it. I'm glad you like it. :D

I have the incredible urge to sketch what I pictured when I read this. Fantastic.
